Yoga Nidra is especially beneficial people who experience anxiety, difficulty relaxing, insomnia, low energy, or feel “high strung”.
Yoga Nidra is a relaxation technique that allows achieve a deep and whole state relaxation & release. The Sanskirt words “Yoga Nidra” translate as “Yogic Sleep” or “Yogic Dreaming”, which refers to the state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, like the “falling asleep” stage, where the mind and body are incredibly relaxed. By straddling the line between waking and sleeping, we awaken the subconscious mind or the seed of our intuition. In this state of awareness we are able to access the deepest parts of our psyche in order to release stored tensions, stress, fears, and anxieties, as well as gaining access to our intuition, healing ability, creativity, and massive stores of energy.
There is no movement in this class as you might expect from a yoga class! We will be laying down for the majority of class with a bit of discussion at the beginning and the end.
